The tablets can be found in five hundred milligrams and one thousand milligrams form. Give 1 gm Valtrex twice daily for 10 days to treat genital herpes. Take 500 mg three times daily for 3 days to treat recurrent genital herpes. Use Valtrex for treatment of cold sores created by herpes.
